I don't know what it is but the Flyers just kill goaltenders.

I think Bryz has been the difference in a couple games. And has been, at times, the only think stopping the Flyers from being 30th out of 30 teams. The Flyers are a better team with Bryz in net because the cost of moving him for something else is not worth the cost of Prospects, picks, players to get someone like Bobby Lou. Lou's ceiling isn't that much higher than Bryz's is, and could be a whole lot worse a fit. The rest of the team is the issue now, and trading assets isn't going to help it. We made this decision when we traded away Bob. Goaltending is NOT this teams problem.

Mason hasn't been good in the past few years but maybe a change of scenery will prove good for him. He has proven that he has the potential to be one of the top goalies in the league but, having said that, he has also proven that he could also be a bust. Only time will tell which one.

Any goaltender that lands on Philly's radar needs to re-evaluate his life goals and find a new vocation.

meh I hope Mason can turn it around.....although Philly probably isn't the best place to try and rejuvinate your goalie career but I wish him well.

mason was good, until the team got steamrolled by the wings 4 straight in the playoffs. very different goalie after that.

you might have this trade confused with the Weber offer sheet

Huskins has actually played OK, so far

compared to Kurtis Foster, he looks great

To be honest, I thought that was coming anyway. The best assessment of Bryzgalov's play this season is that he hasn't really been part of the problem, but really hasn't shown himself to be part of the solution, either. Given his contract, that's not good enough.

I don't agree with this assessment at all. Bryz has easily been one of our best players this season, and has given this underwhelming squad of skaters a chance to win in almost every game. Elite? No, but I don't think it's as simple as "he's gone at the end of this year".
